Title:Thinking of Visiting Sweden in 2022?
Presenter:Ron Floberg and Cherry Lofstrom, SGSC Members

If you are planning to visit family and hometowns or farms of your Swedish ancestry, some pre- trip planning will optimize your time there for what will surely be a trip of a lifetime.

So, ask yourself these questions:

  • Do I have living relatives in Sweden?
  • Who are they and where do they live?
  • Where did my emigrant ancestors live?
  • When and why did they leave?
  • What’s our family history?

A membership in the Swedish Genealogical Society of Colorado includes the benefit of a mentoring program that provides assistance in answering those questions.

Cherry Lofstrom was born and raised in Minnesota. Moved to Colorado in the 70’s…lived here since then. Currently a Certified Public Accountant – doing financial statements audits; trying to determine if I’m semi-retired or not!

Ron Floberg grew up in a predominately Swedish community in North Central Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University. He began his Swedish ancestry search in the late 1970’s, has visited Sweden four times, meeting newly found relatives in the process and served two terms as President of the Swedish Genealogical Society. He is a mentor in the Society FIKA one-on-one program. He and Cheryl have been Coloradoans since the 1960’s interrupted by three years in the Chicago area.
