Geoffrey Fröberg Morris
Swedish Research Specialist
Family History Library, Salt Lake City, Utah
Geoffrey Fröberg Morris began doing Swedish genealogy over 25 years ago when he was mentored by his mother (a native of Sweden.) He accepted full time employment at the Family History Library in 2000 as a member of the Nordic reference team. Among his work assignments, Geoff has engaged in many archival visits in Sweden. He has authored hundreds of pages into the Family Search Wiki, and routinely presents at conferences. In 2014 he co-founded The Swedish Genealogy Guide, a company focused on empowering others to do Swedish genealogy. He offers tools and instruction through The Swedish Genealogy Guide website, facebook page, and Youtube channel.
This workshop is open to everyone. Presentations will include:
- âGetting the Most Out of ArkivDigitalâ Going beyond the basics of ArkivDigital
- âMantal Tax Recordsâ This new presentation is based on Geoffâs reading the recent Swedish Handbook on the subject. (Kjell likely knows of this annual Handbook published in Sweden). Geoff found the book very useful in finding your land owning ancestors back to the early 1600âs.
- âSwedish Place Namesâ Geoff developed this presentation in response to one of the most frequently asked questions at their help desk. Itâs a 12 step approach to identifying what and where is it. Itâs been a well accepted presentation.
Watch for additional information on this full day program.
Participants are encouraged to either bring a brown-bag lunch or order in a catered sack lunch. For catered sack lunch options, please download and complete the mail-in order form below.
