Program:“A Mother for Margareta”
Presenter:Jill Morelli, CG, CGL, Certified Genealogist, lecturer, and writer

Hishult parish records had no record of the birth of Margareta Andersdotter, yet 50% of the online trees had her born there. Her father could be identified, but he had two wives. Which one was her mother and where and when was Margareta born? The records were skimpy and many were damaged, but by following the men in her life, tweezing every bit of evidence from the meager records, and using mtDNA in a rare application to a Swedish problem resulted in the identification of Margareta’s mother.

Video and handouts available here. The video for Jill’s presentation is only available until February 6, 2024.
